The Various Ways Social Media Can Influence a Business

Social Media Presence Holds the Real Value

Social media platforms influence a business online now more than anything else. They do so in various ways aside from the number of likes on a Facebook page or the number of followers a Twitter or an Instagram account has. Although the more of a following a business has the better, the presence online in social media is what counts the most. There are some key reasons why a mere presence in social media for a business and its customers is crucial.

American Consumers Spend Most of Their Time on Social Media Platforms

It was common sense people spent a lot of time logged on Facebook and other forms of social media, but it is fairly shocking to learn Internet users spend three times as much Internet time checking their social media and blogs than they do their email. Most people are communicating through social media now versus email. Messenger systems allow for the same functions as email, but the difference is still staggering. Businesses should have profiles built up on social media for the communication factor alone. Being able to post a sale or clearance on a network page is a better way for the announcement to get seen.

60 Percent of American Consumers Create Reviews

According to a Nielsen report, roughly 60 percent of consumers with an account on social media create a product or service review. People with social media accounts look to one another, friends and family for a recommendation on products or services. Whether a business has a social media account or not scarcely matters whether or not someone will speak highly of it to their list of friends on Facebook. It is smart for a business to listen to what people are saying. It is also smart to be thanking consumers on social media for their business or a good review. Remember, they are going to talk anyways.

It Is a Good Technical Decision

It is a good technical decision to create a social media presence. A social media presence with platforms connected to each other, connected to a blog and all of it connected to a website as a central hub is smart for search engine presence. Social media platforms rank well on Google and Bing. They also create the opportunity for a website to produce some high quality backlinks, which have a huge impact on search engine page rank.
